We recently hosted a webinar to take you through an exciting preview of our most anticipated event for 2026 – the 12d Tech Forum!
This webinar outlined some of the many things you can see and do at the 12d Tech Forum 2026 – updates to 12d Model and 12d Synergy, networking opportunities, our Sponsors, our exhibition, and the all-new Training and Special Interest Room!
This session was presented by 12d Solutions Managing Director, Dr Lee Gregory.
I caught up with Dylan Revell of 12d NZ earlier this week to chat about the Design Quick Start options and Design Quick Tools in 12d Model.
The 12d Model Design Quick suite of options allows Users to create a 3D design Model with a one-button selection on a 3D string.
Users can utilise the pre-installed design profiles and pavement styles or create custom profiles to their own Company or Regional standards and place them on a user defined toolbar.
Quick Tools can populate and dynamically measure start and end positions for designs, remove unwanted links through intersections and turn sub-surface pavements on and off.
It truly means you can have your Apply Functions and MTF files created and running with a single click and ready to start editing.
I caught up with 12d Model Programmer Callum Peaker yesterday to chat about updates to the Automated Catchment Delineation functionality in 12d Model 15 (a feature available from c1r onwards to 12d Modellers on Maintenance who have the Drainage String and Drainage Analysis modules activated).
First showcased at the 2024 12d Tech Forum, Automated Catchment Delineation has received many improvements over the past six months. This webinar aims to showcase some of the new features and changes to the tool, as well as a brief overview of catchment creation from start to finish. Auto Catchment Delineation receives ongoing development informed by user feedback and suggestions.
Building on the user-friendly GUI of 12d Model’s 2D Quick Analysis, the 2D Water Analysis tool extends the features and commands available for 2D modelling in 12d Model.
Dylan Revell of 12d NZ takes you through this functionality to demonstrate how it can work for you!

The sold-out 12d Tech Forum 2024 was a raging success, and we were thrilled to see so many of you there in person! There was only one problem from our perspective, and that was a pretty good one really – we had more content than we could showcase in three days! So we’ll be running these webinars until that excess material is exhausted – a “Director’s Cut”, if you will!
I caught up with Dylan Revell of 12d NZ yesterday to chat about some new functionality in 12d Model – the Mark-Up and Review Tools.
Available in both 12d Model 15 and 12d View 15, the Mark-Up and Review Tools are designed to work with your existing Quality Control Systems, and are flexible enough to incorporate into your QA/BIM workflow – a digital solution to an often manual process.
Dylan Revell of 12d NZ took us through these tools in an informative presentation demonstrating how they can work for 12d Modellers across multiple disciplines.
You can watch a video of Dylan’s presentation here.

I caught up with 12d Model Programmer Callum Peaker yesterday to chat about a new feature in 12d Model 15 – Automated Catchment Delineation.
First showcased at the 12d Tech Forum last year, Automated Catchment Delineation is a new tool aimed at aiding in catchment creation. This webinar will cover the process of catchment creation from start to finish, as well as provide glimpses into the tool’s ongoing and future development.

This webinar (to be held on Thursday 7th November – Sydney time – from 1pm) was for the ALDE and 12d Model Introduction to Land Development Design Training Course, and was presented by Cameron Lowe, the Training Manager at 12d Solutions.
ALDE, the Association of Land Development Engineers, is the peak body representing the interests of engineers in the Land Development Industry operating in Victoria. In partnership with ALDE, 12d (through the Civil & Surveying Institute) has developed a Self-Paced Online Training course which aims to give new and experienced Land Development Engineers an understanding of the various procedures, documents and standards required for Land Development in Victoria, as well as training in the most up-to-date and relevant 12d Model tools.
I caught up with Rod Burns of Extra Dimension Solutions earlier today to chat about 12d Model and Google Earth, as part of our new 12d Tech Forum 2024 Director’s Cut Webinar Series, which is showcasing some bonus content from our sold-out face-to-face event earlier this year.
This webinar delved into various methods and examples for exporting data from 12d Model to the Google Earth environment. The release of 12d Model 15, along with valuable user feedback, has led to the development of enhanced tools that empower 12d users to effectively present technical civil and surveying data to non-technical audiences.
Rod’s presentation highlighted practical use cases, demonstrating how surveyors, drainage engineers, and civil designers can seamlessly export project data while maintaining comprehensive metadata. This ensures clients can easily explore and gain deeper insights into project elements.

Yesterday, we launched the ‘12d Tech Forum 2024 – Director’s Cut’ webinar series.
The sold-out 12d Tech Forum 2024 was a raging success, and we were thrilled to see so many of you there in person! There was only one problem from our perspective, and that was a pretty good one really – we had more content than we could showcase in three days!
Thus, this webinar series is designed to highlight some of the amazing content we wanted to include in our face-to-face event earlier this year, but which just didn’t quite fit into the programming! Some presentations you’ll see in this series were left out entirely due to overall time constraints (we’ve had requests for an event that runs for longer than three days, but we think it might be just too much for everyone!). Others had to be allocated short time slots because we had too much content – a great problem to have!
[We’ve added more features since July, too, so some talks are being updated for that reason, too!]
In this webinar, 12d Solutions Co-Founder and Managing Director Dr Lee Gregory set the stage for the new series in which we’ll allow some of our presenters the freedom to give their ‘extended edition’ talks…we’ll even include a couple that we couldn’t fit into the Agenda at all!
Earlier today, I chatted with Jason Knox of 12d WA about ‘What’s New in 12d Track’.
Jason has 17 years of experience leveraging the power of 12d Model. His background in civil design and software development has encompassed the rail, mining, LNG, and renewable energy sectors. Jason’s training initiatives equip individuals and teams with the skills needed to utilise the software effectively.
Jason demonstrates how to generate best-fit geometry from surveyed pickups, visualise offset calculations in plan, section, and custom reports, apply dual-gauge cant on several vehicles while highlighting non-compliant design criteria, and generate stunning 3D trimesh extrusions using 12d’s new Track tools.
